It's time for a rant!

Early in the morning a few months ago, I typed up this page while I was on a caffeine high from a rather large cup of coffee. I posted it quickly, taking a picture of the sheet rather than take the time to scan it. A few hours later, I removed it because it was very rant-ish for so trivial a subject. Some of you may recognize it, if you were one of the original 14 or so people who saw it. I have posted it up here again because I rediscovered it among some old papers in my desk and I am approximately 60 views from reaching the 4,000 mark, and if it turns out I don't return to this blog I'd like to have at least reached 4,000 views.

Now, before you read, keep in mind that I had consumed a little too much coffee that morning and that I wasn't exactly thinking through everything I wrote.

Enjoy! And remember to take everything I have written here with a grain of salt ;)

Taking a Break

Blogging's just not for me.

So I've been running this blog over half a year, although it doesn't seem like it has been that long. The first few months were great, and I was enjoying keeping up with my new blog on a weekly basis.

Then it started to feel like a chore.

By the time December came, my enthusiasm was dead. I decided that I would kick start it by positing on a near daily basis until the end of the month, and I guess that sorta worked even though I never did make it to the end of the month.

And after that, I kept dragging on...

Point is, I'm really not liking this blogging. I love being a part of the Typosphere--I read many of the blogs, I'm a member of the Typewriter Database, etc. But I don't like having this blog hanging over my head.

So, I've decided to retire my blog, at least temporarily. This doesn't mean I'm done for good, and maybe I'll update this thing every once in a while, but for now don't expect a whole lot from me. I'll still be a part of the Typosphere, of course, but I won't be a blogger.

The irony is not lost on me that this post happened right after my triumphant return from a month of digital oblivion... so goes it...

Adios, folks.

Guess who's back???

My crappy phone camera doesn't do her justice.. she is a beaut
Found in the same hoarder's house as the Silent, this nasty Royal did not survive the years so well. It was unfortunately not covered like the Silent was, and all that grime got in the guts of the machine.

I must have gotten to excited, because I completely forgot to mention the history fair. My project? Technology as it advanced through the years.

Some of my most popular display items were typewriters, of course. The IBM in the center is non-functional, but visitors to my display were encouraged to try the Royal and Olympia on the sides.

All typewriters (and other artifacts, for that matter) used in my display were found in the school basement... the coolest part is that I got to keep the typewriters after the fair ended!

Thanks for reading!

An Unexpected Olivetti

Whether or not I keep this machine depends wholly on if I can get it to be less stiff. Quite honestly, it was a pain getting this typecast typed out on its foul heavy keys. If it typed as well as it looked, it would be a favorite of mine for sure!

I hope you all had a happy weekend! (as I type this it is actually Friday, so I hope I had a happy weekend too!)

Launch the Torpedo!

Just a reminder, remember to check in on the parts machine page! I am currently working on updating it, and I have added two new parts machines.
