Taking a Break

Blogging's just not for me.

So I've been running this blog over half a year, although it doesn't seem like it has been that long. The first few months were great, and I was enjoying keeping up with my new blog on a weekly basis.

Then it started to feel like a chore.

By the time December came, my enthusiasm was dead. I decided that I would kick start it by positing on a near daily basis until the end of the month, and I guess that sorta worked even though I never did make it to the end of the month.

And after that, I kept dragging on...

Point is, I'm really not liking this blogging. I love being a part of the Typosphere--I read many of the blogs, I'm a member of the Typewriter Database, etc. But I don't like having this blog hanging over my head.

So, I've decided to retire my blog, at least temporarily. This doesn't mean I'm done for good, and maybe I'll update this thing every once in a while, but for now don't expect a whole lot from me. I'll still be a part of the Typosphere, of course, but I won't be a blogger.

The irony is not lost on me that this post happened right after my triumphant return from a month of digital oblivion... so goes it...

Adios, folks.

  1. it happens - it does help to think of your blog as not an obligation, but just a handy place to drop stuff you typed up and took pictures of. To me, it serves the purpose that most people use Facebook for, because I pretty much refuse to wrangle that monster.. :D

    1. I avoid Facebook like the plague, so maybe this blog has a chance after all... ;)

  2. Hope that you will be back after a break. I think of my blog as a notebook - it helps me remember what things look like and how they function. It also helps me keep my projects on track. Stay active at Typewriter Talk - you always have something intelligent to add to the discussion.

    1. I'm sure I'll be back to the blog sometime, but I will still be wholly involved in Typewriter Talk and the Database.

  5. What the other's said. (:
It's not a periodical that has to publish at set times for me, more a channel to share some stuff I come across. For me it's been entertaining, informative and rewarding to read the blogs and also share some back. A hobby...
